You like pears and gingerbread? Then you will love these pear custard parfaits with gingerbread crumble - a perfect snack or dessert for the Holidays!

It's Christmas Eve today. Don't worry, I'm not missing out on family time while I am typing this cause everyone is still asleep (it's not even 6 am yet). But I am very excited about today and the days to come.

I planned on publishing this post much sooner, but somehow I lost my scrap of paper with the ingredients somewhere in the chaos of moving. However, it appeared again between boxes and bags and that's why I am going to share this recipe with you toda on Christmas Eve.

There is a little story to tell about this recipe. No, this is not going to be a Christmas fairy tale - but something of that sort. The day I wanted to take photos of this dish for my blog I gut my finger really bad while cleaning the glasses I wanted to use. I cut it right above the knuckle. And it was bleeding. So off to the doctor who sent me to the surgical ward right away, where I got stitches. And I also got this little splint so I won't move my finger too much.

All this happened two day before we wanted to move all out stuff to our new appartment. Perfect timing. My boyfriend and I were on the brink of call of the move. After all, we wanted to do it all by ourselves. Luckily, a sweet Christmas angel - aka my younger sister - took a day off to help us. We were so grateful! The End.

I know, I am not the best story teller. Anyways, we got everything moved before Christmas so we can set up furniture and everything after the Holidays.

All right, I think it's time to get back to te recipe - I don't think you want to spend hours on Christmas Eve reading my blog.

I hope there are a few pear fans among you. I love pears. Roasted pears on pancakes or simple raw as a snack, pears are the bomb. This sweetness and juicy consistency - apple can't keep up with the. And now imagine the sweet pear flavor in a creamy custard. Mmmh.

And now add a raw crumble seasoned with gingerbread spices. Mmmh.

Even if you already have a dessert for your Christmas feast, there is no reason not to make this parfait after Christmas. If you can buy gingerbread three months before the Holidays (at least here in Germany) why not after?!

I wish you all Happy Holidays and enjoy this wonderful time of the year with your family! I will see you again next year!
